Intermittent Failures
8:50a - 9:10a Pacific: File & Discussions pages randomly fail to render (due to timeouts)
9:10a - 9:50a: Site is working, but slow
9:50a: Site is available and working at normal speed.


8:50a, we had a performance degradation on the database server, which caused some pages to timeout instead of rendering.

9:10a, we identified a particular resource (retrieving information for Files & Discussions), and manually increased the number of services. This brings the site online, but the site is still slow.

9:50a, we disabled some internal low priority services to remove load from the database. This returns the site to normal speed until the database can recover.

2:45p, database performance returns to normal. Low priority services are still disabled.

5:00p, we re-enabled all services.
